Vaccine Minister Nadhim Zahawi praised the “phenomenal achievement.”
He added: “It’s great to see so many young people reaching out to their jabs, doing their part to protect themselves and their loved ones.”
It comes as hundreds of walk-in vaccination sites were opened in England, including stadiums and shopping malls.

The sites were designed to boost uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine amid a growing number of cases driven by the Delta variant.
The UK recorded another 18,270 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the highest number since February 5, yet hospital admissions and deaths remain low.
The appetite for jabs remains high as the vaccination program enters its final stages.

More than a million vaccination reservations were made between Monday and Wednesday of this week, while the NHS is also contacting people aged 40 and over to advance their second dose according to updated expert advice. .
According to NHS England data released on Saturday, a total of 64,089,251 vaccinations were carried out in England between December 8 and June 25, including the first and second doses.
NHS England said 36,944,843 were first doses, an increase from 177,515 the day before, while 27,144,408 were a second dose, an increase of 133,375.
More than four in five adults have received their first shot and more than 60% of people have received both doses, the NHS said.
Dr Nikki Kanani, England’s NHS Director of Primary Care, praised the “incredible” progress that is being made.
She said: “The acceptance that we have seen among young people aged 18-29 in the last week shows how much young adults, like all those who came before them, recognize the importance of protecting themselves, as the NHS continues to provide the greatest and most rapid vaccination program in history at a phenomenal rate. “
Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said the UK had genomically sequenced more than half a million COVID-19 positive samples.
This genetic makeup data is used to identify new variants and help suppress the spread of the virus, and it is estimated that the UK contributes about half of all shared sequences for comparison around the world.
The DHSC said that such work, which is based on launching surge tests, will help support decisions about relaxing social distancing rules in the future.
