Honda is all set to launch in the EV scooter segment with its all-new Honda Activa E Electric Scooter. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India President, Atsushi Ogata said in an interview with ET Auto that – HMSI EV (Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India) has commenced production in the country.
Honda Benly e was recently spotted testing battery swap technology at ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) Pune. Honda has also set up Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd. in Bangalore. However, the Honda Activa electric scooter is expected to launch in India next year, in 2023.
Honda Activa E Electric Scooter Launch in India

Honda will enter the electric scooter segment in India with its most popular model, the Honda Activa. The Honda Activa E is said to come with battery swap technology, which will be convenient for buyers as they do not have to set up a charging point or go to the power station and wait for their scooter to be charged.
They will be able to easily replace their empty batteries at the nearest Honda showroom or dealership for a small fee. This model is likely to be similar to the Bounce Infinity E1.

With the Activa board, it will be easier for Honda to enter the EV space and establish an increasingly strong presence. HMSI President Atsushi Ogata confirmed to ET Auto that the company will have India’s first ready-made electric vehicle by next financial year.
