The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday decided to organize the remaining 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) in the UAE. The decision was taken at a special general meeting (SGM) held virtually, where the members unanimously agreed to resume the IPL.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the completion of the remaining matches of the Vivo Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the months of September-October this year in view of the monsoon season in India. An official release of the BCCI stated.

The IPL was rescheduled indefinitely by the BCCI on 4 May after several players and staff members of IPL teams started testing positive for Kovid-19 as the second phase of the virus spread rapidly in the country.
The last match of the season so far was played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on 2 May.
Delhi Capitals currently top the points table with 12 points from 8 matches.
