Tescos Burning Secret: Tesco is fanning the wildfires that have spread across Brazil. The UK supermarket buys meat from companies owned by Amazon rainforest destroyers, and sells chicken and soy-fed pork from deforested lands elsewhere in Brazil. Here’s what you need to know — and what you can do to help prevent it.
Haven’t shopped in Tesco’s since they colonised the west end of Glasgow where I used to live. Knocked all the wee shops out of business and at the same time, local suppliers. There’s so many of them close to each other. Were there broon envelopes involved?
I knew Tesco were basically a slightly worse version of the U.S’s walmart and Asda chain but this is beyond irredeemable behaviour.
Tescos Burning Secret
Tesco is the UK’s worst supermarket for forest destruction. They are fuelling fires in forests across Brazil and deliberately misleading the public by claiming that they’re on course to hit their zero deforestation targets. The truth is, they have little idea where their soya comes from, and are selling industrial meat on a scale that can’t be sustained without deforestation.
Tesco customers have the power to demand change. Can you help pile on the pressure to make sure they stop doing business with forest-destroying companies?
