The Mi 10i is Xiaomi’s first smartphone to be launched in 2021, and is aggressively priced at Rs. 20,999 for the base variant. OnePlus Nord vs Xiaomi Mi 10i Design
Let’s start with the Xiaomi Mi 10i. Although it is a part of the flagship Mi 10 series, its design is different from that of its more expensive siblings. The Mi 10i offers a large 6.67-inch full-HD + LCD display with a hole in the top-center for the selfie camera.

The power button is convenient, but the volume buttons are slightly out of reach.

Both smartphones are 5G-ready and boast a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. OnePlus Nord has Snapdragon 765G, while Xiaomi Mi 10i sports the Snapdragon 750G. There are many RAM and storage combinations for both smartphones. There are three variants of Xiaomi Mi 10i: 64GB storage with 6GB RAM priced at Rs. 20,999, 128GB storage with 6GB RAM for Rs. 21,999, and 128GB storage with 8GB RAM for Rs. 23,999.
OnePlus offers Nord in three variants: 64GB storage with 6GB RAM priced at Rs. 24,999, 128GB storage with 8GB RAM for Rs. 27,999 and 256GB storage with 12GB RAM for Rs. 29,999. The OnePlus Nord is obviously more expensive than the Mi 10i, but it also offers more RAM and storage at those prices. Xiaomi supports expandable storage on the Mi 10i but with the OnePlus Nord you do not have that option.
In terms of battery capacity, the Mi 10i packs a larger battery of 4,820mAh while the physically smaller OnePlus Nord has 4,115 million batteries. OnePlus Nord comes with its own Warp Charge 30T charger in the box, while Xiaomi bundles the 33W Fast Charger.
Connectivity options on both smartphones include Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi AC, and several satellite navigation systems, including NavIC. OnePlus Nord also has NFC, which misses the Mi 10i.
Both smartphones were running Android 10 with the December Android security patch at the time of this comparison. The software is where OnePlus gets a lot of points. Its interface is more clear than the MIUI on the Mi 10i, and you won’t have any issues with ads. Although both UIs are easy to use, Xiaomi’s intrusion and spam notifications have been produced. OnePlus promises a three-year Nord with two years of software updates and security updates.
Xiaomi does not promise software updates and its track record is also not very promising. The company is known to update MIUI while the underlying version of Android remains the same. If you prefer to be up-to-date in terms of software, you will be better off with the OnePlus Nord.
Xiaomi Mi 10i vs OnePlus Nord Performance
Both the OnePlus Nord and Mi 10i have powerful processors, and when it comes to everyday use, you won’t have any issues. The OnePlus Nord has an in-display fingerprint scanner while the Xiaomi Mi 10i has a side-mounted capacitive, and I get it very quickly.
I liked the better performance on the OnePlus Nord, as the blacks were actually better than the Mi 10i by pop and vice versa. The performance of the OnePlus Nord was also hot, which I like. You have the option to tweak the display settings on both of these smartphones, so this shouldn’t be a big issue. When set to 120 Hz, Xiaomi Mi 10i appears motionless when both phones are compared to each other.
Both smartphones have loud speakers. The OnePlus Nord features UFS 2.1 storage, while the Mi 10i features the new UFS 2.2 standard, but it did not make much difference in our tests.
